Working from elementary particles to exoplanetary systems, and building the communities that get more students there too.

I’m a student researcher in astrophysics and computational biology, chasing questions that don’t have clean answers yet. That has meant a Max Planck MPIA internship as 1 of 9 selected, a perfect score for 1st in the World at Purple Comet, and a National Award at the International Astronomy & Astrophysics Competition.

The work runs from numerical relativity to multi-omics: modelling photon trajectories around a Schwarzschild black hole, hunting habitable exoplanets with variational autoencoders, and analysing microgravity cardiac deconditioning with the UBC Computational Biology Lab. Different fields, one habit — build the thing, then check it against the maths.

Science compounds when it’s shared. I’ve founded or co-founded five STEM organisations across two countries, reached 100+ elementary students through SciQuest, and directed 41+ judges as science fair Head Judge. Every one of them exists so the next student starts further along than I did.

Muon-Based Communication

Founded an 8-member research group to investigate whether relativistic muons could carry information through dense matter. Slotted pulse-position modulation with Hamming(7,4) correction, evaluated against Coulomb scattering, ionization loss and detector jitter — raw bit-error rates below 3% through a 12 m overburden.

Exoplanet VAE

A one-class anomaly detection framework built on variational autoencoders to find potentially habitable exoplanets that deviate from Earth-like characteristics. The planets the model reconstructs worst are the interesting ones — physically plausible edge cases a similarity index throws away by construction.

Space Bioinformatics · March 2026 – Present

Microgravity Omics

Multi-omics analysis of cardiac deconditioning in microgravity, run in R across differential expression, PCA and pathway enrichment. The point is drug repurposing — mapping the disrupted pathways onto cardiovascular therapeutics that have already cleared trials.

Orbital Mechanics · Sept 2024 – Present

Satellite Detection Model

An open-source Python pipeline that ingests real-time Two-Line Element data and propagates orbits with SGP4 to predict satellite interference in astronomical observations — turning contamination from something you find in the reduced data into something you can schedule around.
